Aloha, 

My name is Joei R. Gomez, and I am a local, born and raised on the island of Oahu. My background is in IT, but I am now an aspiring writer. 

This website started as an idea years ago. In 2016, I decided to take the steps to build a website focused on Japan and Hawaii. I wanted to share with both locals and visitors my experiences in my home state. In addition, I was intending to visit Japan and figured that since Japan and Hawaii have both historical and cultural connections, maybe I should incorporate Japan with my blog. Hence, the website JapanAndHawaii.com was born.

In late 2016 I had actually taken my first visit to Japan. Unfortunately, this website was placed to the side and I never got to develop the site in the way I had hoped.

It is now 2022, and I am now working on being a writer. So this website is being resurrected as a means for me to develop my writing. So stay tuned as I begin to add content.
